Successful Poetry

Poetry is a free form of writing that allows people to express their views and feelings. The freedom to write what is on one’s mind is what makes a good poem. The ability to take an experience, good or bad, and turn it into a beautiful form of writing. The key elements that make poetry successful is being able to turn words into an image. With that image readers are able create an experience for themselves. There are no right or wrong ways to make a successful poem. Poetry should be a way to explore different cultures and ways of thinking through creative writing. Some very successful poets use symbolism or realism. Such as, The New Colossus by Emma Lazuras or Wild Asters by Sara Teasdale.
